Rolex Submariner 16800

Rolex Submariner 16800 is a dive watch produced by Rolex from 1979 to 1988. It's the first Submariner with sapphire crystal and quickset date function. For the first time the bezel has been unidirectional (counter-clockwise). Thanks to the presence of the sapphire crystal, the waterproof is guaranteed to a depth of 660ft (300m).

Marks of production

Initially produced with matt dial from 1979 (the beginning of production) to 1984. It's considered a transitional feature for the contemporary presence of the sapphire crystal and the matt dial. It has been replaced with glossy dial. The serial number of the switch is around 8,4*.
